Our Bamara team had a fantastic weekend at the annual Koori Knockout in Bathurst, one of the most important First Nations sporting and cultural events on the calendar.
Bamara proudly supported and sponsored the Koori Warriors for this year’s knockout. The Warriors, who fielded under-13s, under-15s, and under-17s men’s teams, showcased diverse talent across the Wiradjuri nation.
Their dedication and hard work on the field, playing amazing footy, made us all proud.
The Koori Knockout, first held in 1971, is not just a showcase for talented rugby league players. It is a cultural cornerstone, one of the largest First Nations gatherings where communities unite to celebrate their culture, heritage, and pride.
“It was great to see the commitment, and it is beautiful to see the team spirit and passion from the players who proudly represented their families, friends, and the Dubbo community,” said Bamara National Indigenous Advisor Karen Griffiths.
Sports play a crucial role in uniting people and communities, and the knockout is significant for our First Nations staff as it brings together the community, culture, and spirit of the Rugby League. We thank everyone for getting involved and celebrating this awesome event.
