A new way forward with Inclusive Employment Australia

From 1 November 2025, the Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program will begin a new chapter in disability employment support across the country.

Replacing Disability Employment Services, the program focuses on helping people with disability, injury or health condition to find and keep meaningful work – with the care, understanding and flexibility they deserve.

As a generalist provider, Bamara is proud to work alongside participants, families, employers and local organisations across NSW, NT and QLD.

Our purpose is simple: to create employment pathways that are built on connection, community, and care.

At the heart of that purpose is our Circle of Support

Bamara’s Circle of Support

At Bamara, we believe that employment is about more than getting a job – it’s about feeling supported, confident and part of something bigger.

Our Circle of Support model places each person at the centre, surrounded by the people and networks who can help them reach their goals. It’s about working together – participants, families, employers, and communities – to make sure no one is left behind.

We know how important family and carers can be in someone’s journey. We invite families to be involved in ways that feel comfortable, offering encouragement and guidance along the way.

We work closely with employers from the beginning, helping them create inclusive workplaces where employees with disability, injury or health condition feel safe, supported and valued – not just on day one, but every day.

We honour and respect culture as a source of strength, identity, and pride. We connect participants with Elders, mentors and culturally safe organisations that work alongside them with understanding and care.

We’re passionate about bridging connections between all Australians.

We connect people to local disability networks and peer groups that provide encouragement, connection, and ongoing support beyond the program.

We help each participant access the right training and skills to feel ready for work – building confidence, purpose and independence.

We work alongside local services to ensure people have what they need to feel secure – from housing and health support to financial wellbeing.

Our mentors know the areas they service well and can connect participants to the local service that is right for them.

How our Circle of Support makes a difference

The strength of our Circle of Support lies in its connections.

When participants, families, employers, and communities all work together, outcomes are stronger, more sustainable, and more meaningful:

  • Participants feel supported
  • Employers feel confident
  • Communities grow stronger together

It’s not just about getting someone into work – it’s about building the foundations for a better future, one person and one connection at a time.

The role of our Mentors

Our mentors don’t just help people find work; they are the heart of everything we do.

They are local people who care deeply about their communities – people with lived experience, compassion and a real understanding of what it takes to find your place in the workforce.

Your mentor will take the time to listen to your story, understand your goals, and help you overcome challenges along the way.

They will:

  • create a personalised action plan that feels right for you
  • connect you with training, services and employers that understand your needs
  • support you to build confidence, independence and new skills
  • work alongside you once you start work, checking in to make sure you feel safe and supported

They are beside you throughout your pathway to employment, reminding you that you’re not alone in your journey.

Supporting employers to build inclusive workplaces

When workplaces create accessible and inclusive environments, everyone benefits.

Through Inclusive Employment Australia, Bamara works with employers to create environments where people of all abilities can thrive.

We support employers by helping them:

  • identify staffing needs and connect with motivated local candidates
  • offer on-the-job training and mentoring for new employees
  • provide workplace assessments and practical modifications
  • deliver inclusive and culturally safe training for their teams
  • build strong, supported relationships with their staff
  • Creating a diverse workforce that drives innovation and productivity

By partnering with Bamara, employers gain more than recruitment support – they gain a community partner who cares about their success, their people and their impact.

Creating stronger communities together

When someone finds meaningful work, the impact is felt by their family and community.

That’s why our Circle of Support is about more than individual success. It’s about creating a ripple effect, where opportunities grow, confidence builds, and everyone benefits.

Our approach connects the care of community with the structure of a national program, ensuring every participant, family and employer feels heard, supported and included.
