This week, at the Orange Careers Expo and Trade Experience, our Apprenticeship Connect team wanted to try something different.
This initiative was sparked with the goal of creating a fun, interactive activity designed to draw people in, spark conversations, and connect with community members of all ages.
The activity invited participants to test their skills by passing a Bamara football through the goal at three different distances. Those who managed to land all three shots took home a prize.

From the moment the event kicked off, the activity was a hit. Kids lined up for their turn, laughing, cheering each other on, and taking the chance to have a yarn with Kain and Mandy from our Apprenticeship Connect team.
It was an opportunity to connect with young people through sport, sharing culture, creating memories, and showcasing that learning and careers can start with fun, teamwork, and a friendly kick of the footy.
“The activity can be used as a really good ice breaker for young people, and a great conversation starter with other employers,” Kain said,
“Mandy did a really fantastic job at engaging everyone with the activity, pretty much every single person including other stall holders came up to have a go of the activity.”
Keep an eye out for our activity at future events. We can’t wait to connect with more communities through culture and sport.
