Parent Pathways is a voluntary, flexible, and culturally responsive service designed to support parents of children under six.

Whether you want to return to work, start studying, or just explore what’s possible, we work alongside you to create a pathway that suits your life.

A key part of this support is helping to remove the financial barriers that might be holding you back.

Here are just some of the ways Bamara can assist:

Licensing costs

Having a valid driver licence can make a big difference when it comes to getting to work or study. But for many people, the cost of lessons, tests, and renewal fees can be a significant hurdle.

Through Parent Pathways, we can help cover these costs, with our team guiding you through the licensing process. If you need driving lessons, we can also assist you in finding a local driving instructor, so transport doesn’t hold you back from achieving your goals.

Study and training costs

Whether you’re interested in a short course, a Certificate III, or learning a new skill to support future work opportunities, we can provide financial support for tuition fees, enrolment costs, or course materials. Your Parent Pathways mentor will work with you to identify the right course and help make it accessible and affordable.

Engagement support vouchers

Sometimes, the small day-to-day costs can add up and get in the way of progress.

To help ease financial stress, we offer Engagement support vouchers to assist with basic needs like fuel, groceries, phone credit, or bills.

These small supports can make a big difference, helping you stay engaged and focused on your goals.

Computer and IT costs

In today’s world, access to technology is essential for both study and employment.

If you need a laptop, internet access, or a phone to keep up with training or job applications, we can help cover those costs. This support ensures you’re equipped to participate fully, whether you’re studying from home or preparing for work.

Uniform and tool costs

Starting a new job or course often requires specific uniforms, safety gear, or tools – all of which come at a cost.

We provide financial assistance for these items so that you’re ready and confident on day one. This might include things like steel-cap boots, high-vis workwear, hairdressing kits, or textbooks, depending on your path.

From First Aid certificates and White Cards to work-related checks or equipment, there are often hidden costs involved in becoming job-ready.
