My journey with Bamara started while I was a participant in the ParentsNext program. I was 32 years of age with limited work experience.
My Case Manager from Bamara encouraged me to have confidence in myself and to apply for a job with Bamara.
She saw potential in me that I had not realised in myself before, so with her encouragement I went to the job interview to join the ParentsNext team with Bamara.
Without her support and encouragement, I don’t know if I would have pushed myself to try to succeed.
I was so pleased that I was successful in gaining a position at Bamara starting off in the Community Service Officer position on a 2 week trial.
I had never worked full-time before and the team at Bamara were helpful, friendly and supportive through it all.
I have been enjoying my time here, meeting new people and being able to help our Participants. With training and the right support I am now employed as a Case Manager in Alice Springs.
