Building a meaningful career has always been about more than finding a job for Chloe. It was about creating a future where she can make a difference.
When Chloe connected with Bamara through the Inclusive Employment Australia program in Wollongong, she expressed interest in becoming a paramedic. She wasn’t sure where to start or what training and experience were needed to achieve her long-term goal.
With determination, a positive attitude, and the right support, Chloe has since secured steady employment and is now studying full-time while taking confident steps towards her long-term career goal.
Warm, bubbly, and outgoing, Chloe is visually impaired and lives with epilepsy.
Working alongside her Mentor, Liberty, they focused on Chloe’s short-term goal to find work in hospitality using her previous experience, while exploring the training, skills, and pathways needed for a future career in paramedicine.
From their very first appointment, the focus was on understanding what Chloe wanted to achieve and how Bamara could best support her journey.
Although Chloe was unsure whether her long-term goal was achievable, Liberty encouraged her to believe in her potential and helped her map out a clear pathway to achieve it.
“Getting transferred to Bamara was the best thing that could have happened for my career and education. None of this would have been possible without Liberty,” Chloe said.
To get the ball rolling, Liberty researched training opportunities and drew her extensive local knowledge to connect with local training providers. She guided Chloe through the available options, helping her understand the requirements for each pathway and breaking her goal into clear, achievable steps.
In July 2026, Chloe took a significant step forward by enrolling in a 12-month Certificate III in Individual Support course. She couldn’t wait to share the news with Liberty, who was thrilled to celebrate the achievement alongside her.
“I’m so proud of everything she has achieved, and I know she’s going to go far in her career. It’s been a privilege to be part of her journey, and I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next.”
Throughout the process, Liberty supported Chloe with course enrolment, completed application paperwork, and helped her gather the required documentation. She also assisted her in accessing funding for her course, ensuring financial barriers didn’t stand in the way of her goals.
Liberty has been a constant source of encouragement for Chloe, regularly checking in with her at work and supporting her throughout her journey.
As Chloe settles into her studies, she is taking another step towards her long-term career goal. With determination and Liberty alongside her every step of the way, she is building a strong foundation for her future.
