Recently, we celebrated the graduation of eleven motivated participants who completed the Career Transition Assistance (CTA) course in Taree.

While each participant brought different goals, experiences and interests across a diverse range of industries, they shared a common determination to create new opportunities for themselves.

Over the course of four weeks, guided by their facilitator Merv, what began as a quiet room of participants hesitant to speak first soon became a lively and supportive environment, filled with group discussions, shared ideas and encouragement.

Together, participants built their confidence using technology, explored new approaches to job searching and developed clearer pathways towards their individual career goals.

Participants left the course equipped with a valuable suite of new skills, practical knowledge, and renewed belief in what they could achieve.

“It was rare after a while to have a silent moment with this group. It’s been great watching them all get their self-esteem and confidence back,” Merv, CTA Facilitator, said.

The majority of the group secured job interviews during the four-week course, applying what they had learned and seeing encouraging results before they had even graduated.

Others are taking steps towards creating opportunities of their own. Three participants are exploring ambitions to start their own businesses, with one already pursuing further learning to build the skills and knowledge needed to turn their ideas into reality.

Congratulations to the group on completing the course. We wish them every success as they put their new skills into action and continue working towards their goals.
