At Bamara, we understand that finding meaningful work isn’t just about qualifications – it’s about the proper support, opportunities, and a culturally safe approach that respects your journey.

Childcare support

Balancing work or study with childcare responsibilities can be challenging due to high costs and limited availability. Parent Pathways helps parents and carers explore childcare options, access financial support, and understand government subsidies.

We provide flexible appointment times and family-friendly meeting spaces, allowing parents to pursue training and employment while managing their home responsibilities.

Returning to the workforce

Taking time away from the workforce – whether to raise a family or manage personal challenges – can make returning to employment feel daunting. Parent Pathways assists parents in building their confidence, providing resources tailored to their specific needs.

Your Support Mentor will also help you explore current and future goals, support you in training courses, and assist with gaining new skills or qualifications.

Financial barriers

Financial challenges often prevent people from pursuing work or education. Costs associated with work wear and safety equipment, laptops, and training fees can make it too difficult to move forward with their goals.

Access to Engagement support vouchers

Bamara offers financial assistance to support participants in their engagement with the Parent Pathways service. Participants who register in Parent Pathways receive a $100 voucher when they attend their first appointment and $50 for subsequent appointments (subject to Parent Pathways guideline requirements), which helps cover essentials like groceries, petrol, or training.

Where to start with your job search

Job searching can feel overwhelming, especially for those who are unsure of what steps to take. Many people struggle with where to look, how to write a resume, or what training they may need.

When you team up with a Bamara Support Mentor, they provide step-by-step guidance to help participants explore career options, create personalised Goal Plans, and take small, achievable steps forward.

Whether it’s resume building, interview coaching, or skills development, we make the process easier and less intimidating.

Transport and licensing costs

For many people, a lack of transport is a major barrier to employment. Without a driver licence or access to reliable public transport, getting to job interviews, training sessions, or even work itself can be extremely difficult. This can limit job opportunities and make it harder to maintain stable employment.

Additionally, we assist with fuel vouchers, car registration, licensing costs and public transport vouchers to attend appointments and local activities.
