Congratulations to siblings Ruby and Ty, who have both recently earned their P plates through the Driver Licensing Access Program (DLAP) delievered in Dubbo, a free program funded by Transport for NSW.
Getting their licence was an important goal for both Ruby and Ty, who began their driving journeys around the same time in August 2025.
While initially the two shared some hesitation and nerves, their Driver Mentor, Faisal, guided them in boosting their confidence, ensuring they had the right support and guidance on the road through supervised driving lessons.
In early August 2026, it was Ruby’s turn to put her skills to the test. Despite some nerves leading up to the big day, she passed and proudly earned her P plates!
Ty’s success followed just a few weeks later when he also passed his driving test, marking an exciting achievement for the siblings and their family.
This is a massive effort and a significant milestone for Ruby and Ty, and their mums, Julie and Barbie, said they couldn’t be prouder of what they have achieved.
“To see both kids overcome their disability to achieve this makes me and my wife so very proud. Both Ruby and Ty are super proud of themselves and now have so much more confidence,” Julie said.
Congratulations to Ruby and Ty! We’re thrilled to have been a part of their journey and wish them every success in the future.
