Theo stays the course to build a career in panel beating 

Theo has a new outlook on life. His positive attitude and calm demeanour reflect the hard work and resilience he has invested in achieving his goals, with Bamara supporting him along the way.

Theo first connected with our Aitkenvale team in August 2025 through Workforce Australia Services. As a specialist provider of Workforce Australia Services, this program provides support and access to job opportunities for First Nations peoples.

From day one, he had a clear ambition to become a panel beater.

Working alongside his Mentor, Breearna, they searched for the right opportunity that aligned with his skills and goals.

Along the way, Theo faced a number of personal barriers. As a new father, he was balancing the responsibilities of supporting his growing family while overcoming transport challenges and preparing for employment.

Theo and Breearna worked through everything needed to help him start work, including renewing his driver’s licence, obtaining a police check, organising Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and workwear, and essential tools for the trade.

In June 2026, Theo’s hard work and patience paid off when he secured a position as a panel beater.

While practical support helped remove barriers, Breearna believes Theo’s success ultimately came down to his own unwavering commitment.

Since starting work, Theo has become noticeably happier and more confident, knowing he can provide for himself and his family while building the career he always wanted.

“I always spoke to Theo like he was a mate, and I think that’s why we clicked. He’s shown me what it means to keep proving yourself, no matter what barriers come your way. It was a privilege to be part of his journey,” Breearna said.
