What is Workforce Australia – Career Transition Assistance

Bamara is a Workforce Australia provider of Career Transition Assistance, a government initiative designed to help you learn new skills and find a job.

You’ll receive support to help identify your goals and transferable skills, while learning new skills to improve your chances of finding a job.

Our training will help you identify the right career path, whether you are returning to work, seeking a new opportunity, or looking to change your career.

What support is available?

This program provides you with helpful and practical support to: 

  • Understand your career goals, skills, interests, and what you are good at.
  • Write a resume and cover letter and submit job applications.
  • Gain insight into local job opportunities and necessary skills.
  • Prepare for job interviews, and practical feedback for improvement.
  • Develop your computer and digital literacy skills.
  • Network with employers in your local labour market.

Some of the primary focus areas include:

  • Everyday technology such as computers, tablets, apps and smartphones.
  • Computer programs to develop resume and cover letter writing skills. 
  • Social media for job searching and online job profiles. 
  • Networking and interview tips when meeting employers. 
  • Introductions to our local employer stakeholders. 

Where is Career Transition available? 

Bamara delivers services for Career Transition Assistance across three employment regions, including:

  • Dubbo, Wellington, Walgett and Broken Hill in Far West Orana, New South Wales 
  • Coffs Harbour, Taree, Port Macquarie, Kempsey, Nambucca Heads, Wauchope and Tuncurry in Mid North Coast, New South Wales 
  • Cairns City, Mossman, Atherton, Innisfail, Mareeba and Tully in Cairns, Queensland

  • Workforce Australia Services (including Yarrabah Employment Services) 
  • Digital Services 
  • Disability Employment Services
