What is Social and Community Participation?
Social and Community Participation allows you to explore and engage with your community through sports, hobbies, learning new skills such as cooking, and assisted getaways throughout Australia.
We offer a variety of activities and experiences that match your interests while making new friends along the way. Our safe and social environment offers regular activities from Monday to Friday.
We know sometimes it can be nerve-racking, especially if you’re trying something new, but your Support Worker will help you, ensuring you arrive at activities and back home safely.
How we can support you
We have a wide range of Social and Community Participation programs and activities – and the list is constantly growing!
- Trips – we undertake a variety of trips, including day trips to sports events and gaming expos, as well as travel trips to the Hunter Valley, Sydney, Canberra and more with qualified Support workers.
- Daily social activities – visit the zoo or art gallery, go bowling, attend fitness classes, explore local markets, or enjoy social lunches.
- Exploring local attractions across Dubbo and the Orana region.
- Learning life skills such as meal prep, food shopping and cooking.
- Transport arrangements to and from activities.
- 1:1 support from a dedicated Support Worker if needed.
